Dr. Cavalieri likes to speak at length with women, creating a relationship based on trust. She sticks to evidence based medicine and follows the narrative method. Pregnancy is not an illness and she does not like to medicalize it when it is not necessary. She firmly believes that in the delivery room the protagonist and director is the mother-to-be, accompanied by her support team.
Dr. Cavalieri has been a trailblazer in Italy for bringing awareness and acceptance of VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarian section) to her colleagues and medical institutions. She has also introduced one of the first “Gentle Cesarian Section” programs here in Rome which offers skin to skin contact and delayed cord cutting for a cesarian delivery.
