Lactation Consultant
The biggest challenges a mother faces when breastfeeding is lack of fact based information and support. Meet with our lactation professionals to get both information and support. Book an appointment prior to delivery so you are prepared when your baby arrives, speak with a consultant if you are having any issues or doubts or even just to check in for reassurance that you are “doing it right”.
Gynecologist
Gynaecologists are doctors skilled in the treatment of women’s diseases, especially those of the reproductive organs.
Midwife
Obstetricians/Midwives are specialists in pregancy, delivery, postpartum care as well as women’s sexual and reproductive health (including annual gynecological exams, family planning, menopausal care and others). They are also educated and trained to recognise the variations of normal progress of labor and how to deal with deviations from normal to discern and what may intervene in high risk situations, such as breech birth, twin births and births where the baby is in a posterior position, using non-invasive techniques. In Italy we have midwife led care for labour and delivery where gynecologists are called in when medical interventions are required.
Doula
A Doula is a professionally trained woman who gives one-to-one emotional and practical support before during and after childbirth. She can accompany a woman during childbirth and/or provide emotional and practical support to the family after the baby is born.

Nutrition
Nutrition during a child’s first 1000 days set him up for life. It can determine how tall he’ll grow, how intelligent he will be, how strong his bones are and lower his risk for future illnesses like diabetes and obesity. This important time starts in pregnancy, and continues until they are 2 years of age, way after first foods are introduced. This is why it is so important that mum eats well during pregnancy and breastfeeding. And that we offer our little ones a healthy, balanced diet once they start to eat. We are here to help guide you through these times and help you choose the best foods for you and your child. Even on those days when only chocolate can provide the answer.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy studies the movement of tissues and structure of the body. Pregnancy is accompanied by a series of physical changes, structural, hormonal and emotional that can alter the physiology of the expectant mother, sometimes making childbirth painful and complex. An osteopath can check for proper alignment to ensure an easier labour and delivery as well as help induce labour without the use of pharmaceuticals when necessary.
Psychiatry / Counselling
Psychiatry and counseling with professionals who have special knowledge and experience of the challenges facing expat families, cleft lip and palate issues and non traditional family structures.
Babywearing
A Babywearing Peer counselor is person who is trained in the different ways of using a range of slings and baby carriers to meet individual needs and can teach the basic carrying positions for a newborn.
Family Life Counselling
Family therapy provides a forum for all family members to have a voice in discussing and improving family dynamics. Addressing the family unit as the object of therapy rather than identifying one individual as “the patient” improves family cohesion, the ability to actively listen, and teaches skills for all other relationships.
